Description
Spend less time cleaning chips and more time machining.
The Lite Cycle Chip Bin Cleanout Kit provides convenient front access to the factory chip collection bin on compatible Tormach CNC mills. Instead of repeatedly pulling the chip bin out from underneath the machine for routine cleaning, accumulated chips can be removed directly from the front of the machine.
Our latest Universal V2.0 design improves the cleanout process with better chip containment and a refined opening designed to provide virtually zero spillage when operated correctly.
Designed for shops that regularly run flood coolant and generate significant chip volume, the cleanout kit makes one of the less enjoyable parts of CNC ownership considerably easier.
Why Add a Chip Bin Cleanout?
The factory chip collection system does its job, but removing accumulated chips can become inconvenient—especially once the bin contains a mixture of chips and coolant.
The Lite Cycle cleanout system modifies the existing chip bin to create an accessible front cleanout opening. Chips can be emptied into a collection container positioned directly in front of the machine while coolant remains contained within the machine's collection system.
The result is a faster, cleaner way to perform routine chip-bin maintenance.
Key Benefits
- Front-access chip removal — Clean the chip bin without routinely pulling it from underneath the machine.
- Improved containment — The V2.0 design helps direct chips into your collection container during cleanout.
- Virtually zero spillage — When positioned and operated correctly, V2.0 provides a clean, controlled chip-removal process.
- Less handling — Reduce the need to move a chip- and coolant-covered factory bin during routine maintenance.
- Purpose-built construction — Designed specifically around the chip collection systems used on compatible Tormach mills.
- Easy routine maintenance — Makes frequent chip removal practical for machines producing larger quantities of material.
Choose the Correct Configuration
There are currently two cleanout configurations available. Please review the options below before ordering.
Universal V2.0 — Latest Design
Fits:
770M • 770MX • 1100M • 1100MX
This is our latest and recommended cleanout design. The V2.0 panel was redesigned for broader machine compatibility while also improving chip containment during cleanout.
This configuration is the current production design and will become the standard Lite Cycle Chip Bin Cleanout Kit going forward.
Choose Universal V2.0 for all new installations unless you specifically want the remaining 770 Series closeout configuration.
770 Series — Closeout
Fits:
770M • 770MX only
Our original cleanout panel was designed specifically around the 770-series chip bin. We have a limited quantity of these panels remaining and are making them available to 770M and 770MX owners while supplies last.
This configuration provides the same basic front-access cleanout function but does not fit the 1100M or 1100MX.
Limited remaining inventory — this configuration will not be restocked.
How It Works
The cleanout assembly installs into the front of the existing factory chip bin.
During normal machining, chips entering the machine's chip collection system remain contained within the bin while coolant is allowed to return to the coolant system.
When enough chips have accumulated:
- Position a suitable chip collection container below the cleanout opening.
- Open/remove the cleanout tray as designed.
- Allow the accumulated chips to discharge into the container.
- Return the cleanout assembly to its operating position.
With the Universal V2.0 design and the collection container positioned correctly, chips can be removed with virtually no material spilled onto the floor around the machine.
Installation
Installation requires modification of your existing Tormach chip bin.
The chip bin is removed from the machine and an opening is cut into its front panel using the supplied template. The Lite Cycle cleanout components are then installed to create the new front-access opening.
Installation should be performed by someone comfortable with basic metalworking and machine maintenance.
Important: Cutting tools are required for installation. Always use appropriate eye protection, gloves and other PPE, and remove the chip bin from the machine before performing modifications.
Machine Compatibility
| Machine | Universal V2.0 | 770 Series Closeout |
|---|---|---|
| Tormach 770M | ✓ | ✓ |
| Tormach 770MX | ✓ | ✓ |
| Tormach 1100M | ✓ | — |

Not sure which one to choose?
For most customers, select Universal V2.0. The 770 Series configuration is simply a limited closeout option for existing 770M and 770MX owners.
A Simple Upgrade for a Messy Job
Chip removal isn't the reason you bought a CNC mill.
The Lite Cycle Chip Bin Cleanout Kit turns a routine maintenance task into a much simpler process by providing direct access to accumulated chips from the front of the machine.
For production environments, busy home shops, and anyone regularly generating large quantities of chips, it's a small machine upgrade that can make everyday cleanup considerably more convenient.
